A: Depending on which format you purchase, they are:
Q: I bought a clip but when I downloaded it I got an .asp file. What's that?
A: This is an issue on some Mac systems only. The file you downloaded is actually a .zip file. Rename it to SD_Animation.zip. You will need de-compression software such as WinZip or Stuffit (both available for free) to uncompress the Zip file.
Q: Do you accept PayPal e-checks?
A: Yes, but keep in mind that PayPal doesn't consider the e-check payments to be completed until the funds have cleared. This will result in a delay of 3 to 5 business days before receiving your download link. All other types of PayPal payments will be processed instantly by PayPal and you will receive a link to downloads within minutes (sometimes seconds) after you checkout..
Q: I bought an animation, but I got a file that ends with '.zip' what is that?
A: That is a method of compressing files for delivery over the internet. You can get free de-compression such as WinZip or Stuffit . It will extract the .MOV movie file from the .ZIP file
Q: Will the animation work in my software?
A: There are so many different software packages out there that we can't test them all. However, we have provided a free sample here. If you can Import this into your software you will be able to use any of the other clips on this website. Make sure you have a recent version of QuickTime installed (see next question)
Q: Are they available in HD format?
A: Most animations are originally created in HD resolution (1920 x 1080) These will be made available for sale at some point in the future. If you have immediate need of a particular animation in HD format, contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate you. You can see all our available HD clips by clicking here.
Q: Can I resell these animations as ...Flash...Gifs...Screensavers...etc...?
A: You are free to use the animations in any project and modify them any way you choose, but you cannot repackage them in another format and resell them.
For example: You can use a ScapeDrapes clip as a background for the Titles or credits in a commercial video. You may not put ScapeDrapes animations on a DVD just as they are and sell or distribute it. They must be used to create your final product, they can't be the product.
Q: How does the animation compare to the preview I saw on the website?
The previews are smaller and very compressed in order for them to be able to be previewed relatively quickly and might be as small as 100 Kilobytes whereas the actual Scape Drapes QuickTime animation may be as large as 150 Megabytes.
Q: How will you deliver the animations?
A: Once you check out and pay for your purchase, you will see a page with links to download all the clips you purchased. You will also receive an e-mail with a web link to the location where you can download your animation(s) later if you prefer.
Q: I downloaded the animation but it doesn't show up. What happened?
A: You probably don't have the latest version of QuickTime installed. Scape Drapes are encoded using the PhotoJpeg codec. You will need to download and install the latest version of QuickTime from Apple. (It's free)
Q: My video editing software's resolution is 640x480 but Scape Drapes are 720 x 486. Does this mean I can't use Scape Drapes with my software?
A: You will be able to use them, it will actually give you more flexibility. Since the animations are larger than you need, you can choose to either crop it, scale it down or even perform a small pan across it. Most software will default to cropping off the excess at the sides.
Q; How do I use these on my website?
A: Scape Drapes are intended for use in video production and are too large to be useful on the web without a lot of modification. If you have the know how and expertise you are welcome to do so.
Q: Are they available in other formats like AVI or DV?
A: There are so many video formats out there that it is prohibitively expensive to offer them in multiple formats without significantly raising prices. The best way around this is to use something affordable like Apple's QuickTime Pro which can covert them easily and quickly into dozens of formats. note: We have no affiliation whatsoever with Apple.
Q: Does the animation have the "Feedback Video" watermark on it?
A: No, The watermark seen in the bottom of some of the preview animations is not present in the actual QuickTime animation.
